what's black and white and red all over?

a newspaper..... which was sort of what inspired this card. I love the newsprint DSP that Stampin' Up! has, but haven't gotten around to ordering it yet, so I pulled out some retired Night and Day DSP to create this card for another sister in law's birthday. I also used the Frost White Shimmer Paint and a sponge dauber to create the shimmery white texture on the black scallop circle.

Stamps: Fast and Fabulous
Inks: Basic Black, Real Red
Papers: Night and Day DSP, Basic Black, Whisper White
Misc: Stamp-a-ma-jig, 5/8" White Organza Ribbon, Scallop Circle #2 Bigz Die, Circles #2 Die, Dimensionals

I am off to enjoy the warm weather outside before it goes away again. There isn't too much better than playing with lots of kids outside on a beautiful day. We have a few of the cousins over for a sleepover and are having a blast, and taking lots of pictures to scrapbook later when it's not so nice out anymore.

Circle Christmas

I love geometric shapes for DSP, esp circles, so when I saw this DSP I knew I was going to do a card like this one. I love that is has circles in every element on the card, the DSP, the large scallop circle, and even the stamped sentiment has circles (dots) underneath it, and even the stamped tree has dots in the swirls. I hope you like this card as much as I do.

Stamps: Season of Joy
Inks: Old Olive, Early Espresso
Papers: Jolly Holiday DSP, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Misc: Scallop Circle #2 die, Circle Scissor Plus, 5/8" Old Olive Satin Ribbon

I also wanted to apologize for being gone so long. Things got crazy around here, and then my son got really sick and I just had no time left at the end of the day to get on here and show my creations, heck I didn't even have enough time to make any new creations. I am hoping that is changing, as I actually had time tonight to blog and to create a centerpiece for thanksgiving dinner on Monday. I will show that to you tomorrow. For those of you that are still coming back after I have been gone this long, thank you, I really appreciate it. I am still adjusting to a new schedule now that I am working 6 days a week, but hopefully soon I can get my crafting back to normal. Have a great night, and for all my Canadian readers out there, have a great Thanksgiving!

Parisian birthday

I know when I was 18 the idea of going to Paris was like a dream come true, so I tried to use that as the theme for this 18th birthday card for another niece. The paper used is Parisian Breeze DSP that is retired, but perfect for this card. I also don't normally sew on my cards, but I thought it kind of needed that extra touch. I chalked the edges of the 5 petal flowers with white craft ink, and layered a baja breeze button on the chocolate chip one.

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Whisper White Craft, Baja Breeze
Papers: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Parisian Breeze DSP (retired)
Misc: Corduroy Buttons (retired), Organza Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Sponges, Sewing, 5 petal punch, Scallop Circle #2 Bigz Die

I had a lot of fun teaching classes this past weekend and I will start showing you those cards tomorrow. We have had lots of busy days here, and hopefully I can start planning some more classes and club meetings. I have several planned for September, but am needing to get the dates set for October and November. If you are interested in coming to some classes or joining one of my clubs let me know, they are filling up fast.

I've been AWOL.....

Sorry about that. Things got quite hectic here getting ready for my sons birthday, and re-doing several rooms in the house as well. I have also been very busy making a birthday banner for his Transformer themed party, so I figured a break with the Valentines cards would probably be nice for all of you.

I made his party banner from the Bigz XL Pennant Die. It was sooooo easy to make with this. It cuts the pennant as well as the small scallop circles that are hanging, and all the score lines are pre-done, so you can't mess it up!

I let my son pick all the colors, and he picked 'Optimus Prime" Red and Blue and 'BumbleBee' Yellow and Gray for the main pennants as well as 'Skids' Green and 'Jazz' Light Blue for the letters/

The Transformer paper is wrapping paper we found at a Wal-Mart in Az after Christmas as well as a free image of Prime I found online and printed at home. They were cut out using the Scallop Circle #2 Bigz Die.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'
