I am Home.

I am still not sure it is a good thing...(I so loved being on the Island again.) but I am back home again. We had a great trip and loved every minute of it, even the cold, bad ones. My son was really not happy to be coming home and made the trip back not great at all. Now that we are back and all the unpacking is done and the laundry is mostly caught up it is not so bad. Don't you just hate coming back from a vacation only to realize you know need another vacation after getting back to normal? I am hoping to get some scrapping done tonight if the little one cooperates. I have some great pictures from our trip that I need to upload to the computer so I can scrap them later.

I hope you all are having a great start to the week and getting lots of scrapping done.

Final Deal of the Week!

deThis is the final deal of the week from Stampin' Up! This week's deal is the Heart to Heart punch for only 15.99, that is a savings of 30%. This is a shorter week, as this deal is only good until the 31st of July. As usual the discount is applied at the online checkout on my website, or you can phone or email me to place your order.

Happy scrapping.

I may never go home

Today we played in and around Sooke, and went up to the pot holes. If you are ever here, you need to see them, they are wonderful naturally occurring formations in the Sooke river. When the river starts to slow down in the summer, these wonderful basins are exposed and you can climb down to them and swim in the clear water. We will be going back to them again before we leave and I'll get some pictures then, as today we left the camera in the car so we could all play in the water.

Today I found the card reader I thought I packed and couldn't find, so I thought I would upload some pictures so far.

This is the reason for the trip, I made this cake for Lydia's wedding reception and while I was worried that the cakes and the flowers would not make it here, they made the trip and turned out very pretty.

This is the first campsite we stayed at when we got to Nanaimo, it is ocean front and simply beautiful. I was sitting in the front vestibule of the tent and had the camera on a tripod, so this is exactly what we saw when we woke up in the morning through the window of the tent. It was also warm enough all night to leave the tent windows open and not get cold.

This is our second campsite and again these pictures were taken from in front of the tent, with me sitting in a chair and the camera on a tripod. I was leaning out a little and angling up the creek a little, but the view here is just as beautiful as before. Here in Sooke it is a little colder, and we have to close up the tent and snuggle a little to keep warm, but it is still really nice weather.

Deal of the Week

Sorry to be posting this so late, but we did not have an internet connection the last couple days... it is kind of hit and miss while tenting.

Stampin' Up's Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware is just 26.99 this week, until the 26th, that is a savings of OVER 30% off! That is a great deal, and as usual the discount is applied at checkout.

Hope you all have a great week stamping and scrapping and if you are interested in this deal of the week, you can place an order in my online store, or by email with me.

Island life is Wonderful!!!

We have been on the Island for 2 full days, and while I have been extremely busy in those days, I have still tried to take a little bit of time to enjoy where we are. I managed to get the cakes here whole and NONE of the flowers were damaged in the trip either. The fondant didn't cooperate as nicely, but in the end the cakes looked beautiful! I also spent the day yesterday with the Bride and Groom taking pictures of them getting ready and then out and about in a really pretty area taking beach pictures and then again at the hotel with family and the whole reception and ring ceremony too. I have loved driving over to the house to work on the cakes and then driving around for the photos yesterday, we have seen such beautiful places just as we are driving, it really makes the time fly.

Now we will have a few more days here before we leave and head a little farther south for the last leg of our trip and I think I will miss it here. We are camping right ON the ocean, and it is wonderful to wake up and look out the windows of the tent to see that beautiful sight, and I love falling asleep and hearing the ocean as I drift off. Today is our first full day with no wedding stuff, except a small thank you lunch. After lunch we are going swimming in the ocean with the kid and the dog, and tomorrow we are headed to Tofino, and I am super excited about that. I have some amazing pictures taken from right inside the tent, I opened up the tent window and set up my tripod and took some night time pictures that are so pretty.

When we do move south it will still be pretty as we will be camping on a really pretty river, and close enough to the ocean to see it from the campground, just not our actual site. we will be doing a fair amount of hiking there and more geocaching. My hubby and kid have done 2 goecahes already I believe while I was making the cakes and I think we will be doing another tonight as well.

I would love to upload the pictures now and show you but apparently this laptop does not have a card reader, opps. I am going to ask today if the Brides dad has a computer with a card reader. I took about 700 pictures yesterday of the bride and groom and wedding day and reception for them, and I would love to load them to a DVD for her, instead of doing it at home and mailing it to them. Plus this way there will be a back up incase comething happens to the camera, which I hope nothing does, fingers crossed.

That is it for today, I am off to enjoy the view and play in the ocean before lunch. Hope you all are having a great day, and doing a little scrapping. I sure will be when I get home.

I AM DONE!!!! and off for a little vacation.

I am so beyond thrilled that I am not only done all the flowers I needed to do, but the cakes are made, packed and ready to go as well. I am still a little behind on the actual packing of the car and the trailer, BUT I should still be done before my hubby gets home from work. As soon as he is home we are getting in the car and leaving!! We will be gone until the 26th on July and we will be in one of the prettiest places in North America.... Vancouver Island. I will still be updating my blog, esp the deal of the week and such, and while we are tenting, the places we are staying at all have wireless access, so I will still be available if you want to place an order.

I will also be getting to see some friends I haven't seen in ages while I am gone, and my lovely downline Lydia (who is the reason for this trip). The best part of this trip I think will be the day we spend in Tofino, I have wanted to go there every time we have gone to the Island, but we were always so far away, not this year!!

I hope you all have a great time stamping and scrapping while I am gone, and Catherine, if you are reading this thank you so much for letting us borrow the folding dog kennel, that is a life saver!

BeThis is a card I made for my step mom. I am hoping it will help to bring a smile to her face... she has been having a rough little time lately.

I used Cameo Coral, Mellow Moss, So Saffron and Whisper White Cardstock. I also used Regal Rose, Basic Black, Mellow Moss and So Saffron Inks. I used the scalloped circle, 1 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, large oval, scalloped oval and scalloped edge punches and I cut the two leaves by hand and used stampin' dimensionals behind the 1/2 inch circle and the scalloped oval. The stamp set I used was Best Wishes and More. Enjoy.

More sugar flowers and more mess

I have again spent the ENTIRE day making more sugar flowers, my back is getting so sore being bent over and the chair I am sitting on is no good for long hours. I am going to be so happy when the 15th arrives and I am DONE, DONE, DONE!!!

I figured I would show what I have been up to, the table is a mess, but a controlled mess, where everything has a place and is in it, so bear with me a little.
The ivy that were spread all over the sling wrap above, then had their stems wrapped, and were made into 'sprigs' of ivy, like the one below. I had enough ivy to make 10 sprigs and I will need another 6-8 more. Unfortunately the ivy take the longest since they have to dry in the cling wrap to get their shape, and that takes about 3-4 days.

Here I have the ivy made up into sprigs, as well as some of the jasmine flowers and leaves together, and most of the calla lilies are done too. I might have to make some more to fill in a few gaps, but I wont know that until about Monday, then if I need more it will be a fight against time to get them done before we leave Wed.

this is what the Jasmine look like all assembled. I quite like how it turned out. I will be making more of these tomorrow, but the new ones will have a green center.

Finally these are the calla lilies. The color doesn't show up too well with the flash, but they are almost exactly rich razzleberry.

I am off to bed now, I will have a long day tomorrow, and then I leave at 4pm to go to a cake a sugar flower contest.... should be lots of fun.

Deal of the Week!

This week's deal is the Big Shot Doctor's Bag for only $77.99 Again this deal is only valid this week until July 12th. You can visit my online store, email or phone me to place your order.

3 more

Here are the other 3 sympathy cards I did tonight. I wanted them to all be different from each other, which was hard since I loved the colors the first one was done with. I tried new color combos tonight and I am pretty happy with the results, esp since I am beyond tired and fell asleep twice while making these cards. I hope I still like them in the morning.

I was asked if I would post the materials used for these cards. I was going to get around to doing that, but just had not yet, it has been a busy few days.

On this card I used Pacific Point, Basic Black, and Whisper White cardstock, ink was Basic Gray, Pacific Point, and Certainly Celery. I used Fifth Ave Floral and Thoughts and Prayers stamp sets.

On this card I used Whisper White, Basic Black and Real Red cardstock, ink was Basic Black, Basic Gray and Real Red, stamp sets were Heartfelt Thanks, Thoughts and Prayers and Soft Summer. I also used 1/4" real red grosgrain ribbon and the large oval and scalloped oval punches and stampin' dimensionals.

On this one I used Pacific Point, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and Almost Amethyst cardstock, ink was Glorious Green, and Pacific Point, Stamp set is Thoughts and Prayers. I also used organza ribbon and the Top Note Bigz Die, and it is really hard to see in this picture since the lighting was bad, but the chocolate chip cardstock was put through the Sizzix with the harlequin texturz plate from backgrounds #1. If you click on the above picture you can see a bigger image and can see the detail a bit better in the chocolate chip cardstock.

More Sympathy Cards....

So unfortunately I am needing to make more sympathy cards again. I am actually having to make 4 cards tonight. I was planning on making 2, one for me to give and one for my grams to give. Dad, who also came out for the funeral forgot to get one, so I am making him one too, and then grams wanted a second one to give to the mother, as well as the wife. SOOO...... now I am trying to come up with nice cards that are all different. This is my first one that I made earlier today.

For this card I used Sage Shadow, Almost Amethyst, and Whisper White cardstock, as well as watercolor paper. Ink is Almost Amethyst, stamp set is Close as a Memory. I also used Sage Shadow and Almost Amethyst watercolor wonder crayons from the soft subtles family. I used 3/8" Whisper White taffeta ribbon and stampin' dimensionals. The piece of cardstock that is just a little bit darker than the Almost Amethyst, is actually Almost Amethyst cardstock with first Versa Mark on it and then Almost Amethyst ink, I took both pads and just dragged them over that piece of cardstock to try and make it a tad darker.

I will post the rest of the cards tonight after I make them. I think I will end up being up for quite some time tonight. I am not looking forward to the morning, that is for sure!

super busy

I have been super busy around here trying to get everything organized and ready for our big camping trip in a week and a bit. I am also trying to get all the sugar flowers done for the cake I am making, for the wedding we are going to.

I did manage to get a card made today. I didn't have much time so I again CASED a card I saw on SCS. It was originally done by Stacey (slschaf771), and all I changed was the colors and the sizing a bit to use what I had. I hope you like it.

This is all Stampin' Up!®. The paper is Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, and Delicate Dots DSP. The ink is Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, and Chocolate Chip. I used the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set, and Certainly Celery 5/8" ribbon. The 1/1/4 in punch was used on the 2 smaller butterflies and was popped with Stampin' Dimensionals. I also used the mini glue dots for the butterfly's body so the wings could fold up a bit for depth.
