How much I love you

This is somewhat of a joke card.... I am always telling my hubby to stop annoying me, either because he is quoting Monty Python for the millionth time, or some Bill Cosby joke, or something else similar to that, so when I saw the 'you don't annoy me' on the new Like-O-Meter stamp I just had to make this card for him. I also think that the order is somewhat messed up, if I had made this stamp the order would have been: 'I'd marry you again', 'You don't annoy me', I want to marry you', 'like like you', 'a lot but not like a stalker', 'more than just friends', 'like a brother', 'like a friend', 'I'm over you'. I also though it would be funny if the one line read "a lot, LIKE a stalker", but that is just my skewed sense of humour.

Stamps: Like-O-Meter
Ink: Basic Black, Bermuda Bay & Rich Razzleberry Markers
Paper: Welcome Neighbour DSP (from the SAB catty), Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Whisper White
Misc: Basic Black 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

I started a scrapbook layout today, but did not get finished since I got another wonderful migraine, but I am hoping to finish it tomorrow and get it posted on here as soon as it is done. Stampin' Up! announced another few digital downloads and the new paper kit is called Sweet Pea, it is all the paper from the Sweet Pea DSP pack as well as the stitched felt and a stamp set that corresponds with it. I LOVE this paper, and I am so glad that I can use it digitally too. I will get the new downloads posted on here in the next day or so. This is going to be a busy week, I am finishing up all the plans for my sons birthday party as well as a small party for him and a couple friends on his actual birthday, so that will cut into my scrappy time this week, but I am sure hoping to get lots done in between party planning and baking.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

Butterflies and love....

First off, please let me apologize for the bad pictures... my camera got dropped the other day by my son and it is acting up. I am hoping to get it fixed soon, but until then, I think the colors are a little messed up when I zoom in.

I am loving the new jumbo wheel from Stampin' Up! I really am a fan of the wheel to start with, but this new one is great. Because of how the words line up, you can use just part of it if you want, like tomorrow's card, or the whole thing like today's card. You can even take the rubber off the wheel and cut the stamp up into about 10-13 different stamps. I have made 4 or 5 cards that have very different looks with this set so far, and I think I will end up making a few more too. Not bad for a $9.95 stamp right?

Stamps: I {love} Love jumbo wheel
Ink: Taken with Teal, Melon Mambo
Paper: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Taken with Teal, Melon Mambo Textured
Misc: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, Stampin' Dimensionals

I was planning on sitting down and actually getting some scrapbooking done today, but with the weather being so beautiful outside that plan is out the window literally. I am only inside while my son is having an afternoon snack, and then it is back outside to play in the melting snow and mud puddles. Remember when you were little and loved to go and get just disgustingly filthy in the mud? Now I know how my mom felt about cleaning us up when we were done....my tub will need a good cleaning tonight, that's for sure. The up side is I will have some great pictures to scrapbook if I ever get around to it.

Hope you all are having great days too. Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

sweetheart flower

I have been busy the last couple days making a ton of Valentines cards. I really like the new set Sweetheart. There is soooo much you can do with it.

Stamps: Sweetheart, Well Scripted
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay (markers)
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry
Misc: Heart to Heart Punch, Eyelet Punch, Polka Dot Ribbon

I am also working on a bit of a surprise for my hubby and since he reads my blog I won't be posting a ton until after I give it to him. I will still be posting a few cards here and there, but not too much cause I don't want to give the surprise away.

Sponging Class Sneak Peak

This is another sneak peak from my upcoming Sponging and Brayering Basics class. Unfortunately my camera and lights are not co-operating right now, so the picture is not as good as it could be, the sky actually has much more definition to it.

If you are interested in this class please let me know, the deadline for registering is Feb 4th. You can find more info on this class on the Classes/Events page at the top of my blog, or at my website Here

Stamp Club

We had our Stamp Club last night and had quite a bit of fun making 3 sort of Valentines type cards. This is one of them, from the new Sweetheart Stamp set.

I love the treat cups, they are fun to give since almost everyone loves candy, and they can change the look of a card by the color of candy you put in them. What is also nice about the cups is that you don't have to put candy in them. I made a few Christmas cards that has confetti inside the cup instead.

Stamps: Sweetheart
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede Markers
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White Cardstock, Crushed Curry Textured Cardstock
Misc: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Heart Treat Cups, Full Heart Punch, Round Tab Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Smarties (the Canadian kind)

The candy I used is called Smarties and the pink, purple and yellow are almost an exact match for the Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry In Colors. Smarties (made by Nestle) are very similar to M&M's, they are not available in the US, here is a Wikipedia article about them if you are interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smarties

The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

no posts for a day or two....

Unfortunately there will be no new posts from me for a day or two.... maybe longer. I have been sick since I came home from holidays but it has now gotten the best of me. On top of being sick I have the worst Migraine I have had in probably 8 years. I have taken my meds, and almost doubled the dosage (after talking to the dr) and it hasn't even touched it!!! I was hoping to sleep it off, but if you look at the time stamp of this post you can see that I am STILL up at almost 5 am. I hope I can get rid of the migraine soon, but if not, I will not be posting since I will not be making anything.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

you're invited...

Today I finished up all of the birthday invited for Sevastian's 4th Birthday. He is really into Transformers right now, so that is the theme we are going with. I really do feel like I cheated with these invites since the main part of it is a photo, but I did do some 'creating' which makes me feel a little bit better. I printed the info on the backside of the photo paper and I photoshopped the transformer font (I found it online) so that it actually looked like the metal font on the movie stuff. That took a while.... a long while. I also made a cute envelope/holder for the invite. I looked for transformer paper and couldn't find any, so I found some that matched color wise and looked like it belonged. There isn't much Stampin' Up! on here, but there is some

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Paper: Real Red & Brilliant Blue SU cardstock, silver metal, yellow & patterned paper not sure (from my stash)
Misc: Brilliant Blue Brads, Round Tab Punch, Clear Embossing Powder, Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon

I had to emboss the back of the photo since the ink would not dry on the backside of the photo paper. Just a little tip for those that might do the same.... it is really hard to get the embossing powder to melt without 'burning' the back of the photo paper or cracking the picture on the front.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

Love You Much

I love this new stamp set Well Scripted. It is such a nice font and has such wonderful sayings. I'm not too sure where I got the inspiration for this card from, but as I was thinking of what to do this card idea came to me, which is usually a good sign that I have seen it somewhere, and did not actually come up with the idea myself. When I come up with an idea for a card it usually takes me a long time to make it appear in my head, if it pops in there, I had to have sen it some where before.

I used the Bigz XL Die Movers and Shapers with the heart die in it to cut the bigger heart shape out of the white piece so that the pink could show through. I also stamped the sentiment in White craft ink and then embossed it in white as well and punched it out with the full heart punch. I love how you can put one inside the other and have the 'mat' around it. I also used the heart to heart punch to punch all the hearts out of the new Welcome Neighbor DSP from the SAB catty.

Stamps: Well Scripted
Ink: Whisper White Craft Ink
Paper: Welcome Neighbor DSP, Bermuda Bay, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Misc: Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, White Embossing Powder, Heart to Heart Punch, Full Heart Punch, Movers and Shapers Heart Die.

I am having a blast getting back to creating! I will be working on invited to my son's birthday party for the rest of tonight and all day tomorrow. I need to get them out ASAP. When those are done I will be back to working on samples for classes and stamp club.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

Sweet Pea

I finally had a bit of time to myself today and I got immediately started on a card. I had new goodies dropped off yesterday by the wonderful "Yay Man" (what my son calls the UPS man) and I wanted to play with them.

I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do, but I had a bit of a starting point in mind after seeing a card some what similar to this somewhere in the last two weeks. If the idea came from any of you I sincerely apologize, I did not even save the picture or name of the blog, so I can not give proper credit. I do remember that they used the stitched felt and did some faux stitching but that is really all I remember of it. Please leave me a comment here if this idea was yours so I can give you credit for the idea.

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Paper: Sahara Sand, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Welcome Neighbor DSP (a SAB item)
Misc: Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon, Sweet Pea Stitched Felt

I also wanted to re-post the photos of the My Matryoshka card I did in Arizona. It looks so much nicer in proper lighting. I really love the new Scallop Trim border punch. It is so nice to be able to get a punch from the SAB offerings too. I mean really, who doesn't love FREE stuff, esp when it is this nice!!!

That's it for me today.... I am now working on supper for my boys and then I think we will be putting on a puppet show for Daddy.... we spent a good while today working on it while he was at work.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

under construction...

I am trying to add a few new gadgets and links to my blog and it seems that I just can not figure it all out on my own. So I am now reading and scouring the web trying to figure it all out, but while I proceed with my trial and error method unfortunately my blog will look a little different and be a bit messy. I will try to get it sorted out as quick as possible, but it might take me some time to get it all figured out. If anyone has any expertise with blogger and adding 'extras' like google calendar, or additional 'pages' please contact me if you are willing to help me out, even with a few tips.

Thanks for your patience while I work on this.

Class Sneak Peak

I have been super busy since we got back from Christmas Vacation, and yet somehow it seems like I have gotten nothing done yet. I am working on finishing up a couple Christmas gifts and I hope to have the one done by tomorrow, and then I will finish up the last one pretty easily once I get to it. I am also vacuuming at least 3 times a day right now.... Our puppy has decided to start shedding her winter coat...WHAT??? it is still winter here, for at least 4 more months. I have no idea why she is shedding, all I know is that I am now running around after her with a vacuum. We have actually started taking the vacuum directly to her. She doesn't seem to mind that terribly much, and it really does help, but if anyone else has ever had a Siberian Husky you know just how much fur they shed. This was what she looked like before she started shedding so bed.... now she looks sickly, at least until she is done. She has patches all over and is a mess... but we still love her.

I have to apologize for not posting more the past couple weeks. I am getting closer to being able to go back to my routine of creating daily, at least I think I am getting closer. I did do a little bit earlier today so I would have something to post. I made another sample for an upcoming class, and anyone who is interested in taking this class but who lives too far away to attend I think I have an option for you. I am currently working out the kinks, but I am trying to figure out how to do a live streaming video where viewers can ask questions, just like in a class and I can answer them right then. I would also be making class kits with instructions and sending them out before the video so you can participate as if it were a real class. Anyways, onto the card....This is one of 6 cards we will be making at my upcoming Sponging and Brayering Basics class. Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

Sale-A-Brate Good Times Come On......

Every time I start thinking about Sale-A-Bration I hear that line from the song by Kool & the Gang (ok, it is really Celebrate, but I like this version better). Yesterday, (well technically 2 days ago now, I guess) was the start of Sale-A-Bration. This is a great promotion that Stampin' Up! puts on every year, and this year is the best yet! This is the first year that you can choose from select stamp sets in the CURRENT catty as well as the products offered in the SAB catty. Beyond the 4 stamp sets in the SAB catty, Stampin' Up! is offering a wonderful Scallop Trim border punch, and a Designer Series Paper Pad!! Now you have more creative options than ever before.

There are 3 easy ways to earn FREE products:

Spend: For every $65 you spend you will earn one FREE SAB* product of your choice

Host: When you host a workshop of at least $395 you will earn one FREE SAB* product of your choice in addition to the generous hostess benefits

Join: Join Stampin' Up! during SAB and choose a FREE stamp set from the current catty (valued up to $63.95) During SAB, new recruits will get 15 percent off the price of either Starter Kit. The Standard Starter Kit normally $269, is now only $225, and the Digital + Starter Kit normally $239, is now only $199!!

I also am offering a few of my own incentives during SAB. For every SAB item you earn your name will be entered into a draw (drawn April 1st, 2010) for a wonderful gift basket full of Stampin' Up! goodies. If your order earns you 2 SAB items I will add in a stamp* as well. If your order earns you 3 SAB items I will give you a merchandise credit of $10 to add to that order.

Anyone that hosts a workshop during SAB will also receive 10% off their entire order!

There really isn't a better time of year to get all those items on your wish list.

Masculine Birthday

This is the second time I have made this card. I love basically everything about it. Wolves are my most favorite animal, (don't tell my son, he'd never forgive me if he found out tigers really weren't mum mum's fav too!) and a wolf howling at the moon is just so beautiful to see and to hear. I also love the DSP, to the nines, it can be very manly if you want, but it also has some of the most beautiful patterns that work for anything.

I made this for my Brother-in-law, who had a birthday after Christmas. I actually made it while I was in Az, and have not had a chance to give it to him (my bad I know), but it was packed in the car somewhere the night we came back and saw everyone, and now I am too sick to go over. I might have to make my wonderful hubby do it for me though. I really don't like giving cards to people too late, but sometimes life really does get in the way.

Stamps: Nature Silhouettes, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Basic Gray, Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue
Paper: To The Nines DSP, Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Misc: 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Silver Brads, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Sponge Daubers, Stampin' Dimensionals

New Year, New System...

...sort of. Those of you that have taken classes from me know that I love to use unmounted stamps and clear blocks. Stampin' Up! has listened to their demonstrators and customers and provided us with a way to use clear blocks but still maintain the exceptional quality we have come to know and love from Stampin' Up!. The stamps themselves are still the same, except instead of having a permanent stick on the back of the foam it is now a cling stick. I thought I would provide a tutorial of sorts for you all. I was hoping to be able to film it for you (and I still might) but we can not find the charge cord for the video camera right now so I am stuck with a picture tutorial. I apologize right now, this will be a very picture heavy post, but it will end up providing you with the best whole picture, until I can find the charge cord and do it for real.

Here goes
First, the blocks:

The blocks come individually packaged in these great containers. Each container also has a paper that tells you what block you have (ie a, b, c, etc) and also has information on how to use it and clean it. They also list the block size on the back as well. Just a small note.... you can clean the blocks with Stampin' Mist if they get a little dirty..... but DO NOT use Staz on cleaner!!! The Staz On cleaner MIGHT craze the surface of the blocks, this will not affect the stamps or the blocks in any negative way, other than the craze lines themselves.

Aren't they pretty?? all 4 sides are grooved like the wood blocks are on 2 sides so it doesn't matter which way you use them you will always have a great side to hold on to.

Each block also has the letter it is, as well as Stampin' Up! on the sides.

When you take them out of the package you will notice 2 thin cling covers on them. These you will peel off and discard. They are just to help protect the block in the shipping process.

Second, the stamps:

The stamps come in clear DVD type cases, which makes for great storage. Also the images are printed on the front of the cover at full size, so you can see easily what stamp set you have. It also lists the name of the stamp set. If you are trying to figure out which block to use you can hold it up over the full sized image to see if it fits under the block. You will want to use a block that is just a bit bigger, but not too big.

The edge of the case has thumbnail images of the stamps as well as listing the name again.

close up of the front of the case

Inside the case there are 4 images which help you to assemble your clear mount stamps, if you choose to.

As I had said before, the stamps themselves are exactly the same rubber as before, same great quality, just a new sticky on the back. Each stamp comes with the stamp set and an image sheet just like before, the only difference is there are no wood blocks.

Here I am peeling the stamp out of the sheet of rubber.

Just like before you can peel off the backing paper.

If you wish you can use the stamp just like this. The foam backing is cling-y, not permanent stick. If you want, you just take the stamp and place it on the clear block and you are good to go.

However, if you want the image on the stamp please continue with these steps.

the sticker for the back of the stamp has a slit in the cover, you simply peel each side off

peel the other side off

and you are now ready to take your stamp and place it onto the sticker. I will warn you, this part is a permanent stick, so take care when you are placing your stamp onto the sticker. it is fairly easy, but just don't try to do it when you have small children or lets say a dog running through your legs and bumping you. (ask me how I know...)

Once you have placed the stamp onto the sticker rub it firmly to make sure it is completely stuck

You then peel the stamp and sticker off the backing sheet

And Voila, your stamp is ready to go.

To use:

place the stamp onto the clear block (make sure your block is bigger than your stamp, not too much, but not smaller than the stamp either)

Push slightly on the rubber to make sure that the stamp is stuck well

it is hard to see here, but I tried to show you that there are little air bubbles, and you want to sort of push them out.

Now you are ready to stamp. You will ink up the stamp just like normal and clean it on your stamp scrubber just like normal. If you get ink on your blocks you can also clean them with Stampin' Mist. Occasionally blocks can get dirty and possibly even linty (like say if your dog sits on them after your son has moved them), just take them to the sink and run them under water.

to store your stamps just take them and place them on the back inside of the storage case. They will cling to it, just like they cling to the blocks.

I just love these new stamps!!! You can still purchase the regular wood mount stamps, but for anyone with storage issues, or just wanting to save some money, or like me and like to see through the blocks to know exactly where you are stamping, these are the best clear mount stamps I have ever seen and used!!

I hope this helps you, and if you have any questions leave me a comment and I will try to better answer it. I also love to read your comments so please feel free to leave some love.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'
