Halloween Fun

want to know what I love most about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator? The fact that I HAVE to Scrapbook!! At least that is what I tell my hubby. Stampin' Up! has a great promotion on right now where you can sign up to be a demonstrator for HALF OFF!! The starter kit is normally 215.00, but from now until Nov 30th, you can sign up for only 107.50!! Talk about HUGE Savings! I will get into that a little later with my next post. For my Stampers Club this month we are doing scrapbook pages. I let them choose their theme, Fall or Halloween, so I did both LO's. This is the Halloween one, and I love that these pics are from last year! That means I'm only 1 year behind!!! WOOHOOO!! The LO is pretty simple for the most part, and I LOVE that most of the little figures are made from the owl punch! How awesome is that?? I saw the little mouse done somewhere online (I'm sorry if it's your idea, I have completely forgotten where I saw it, if you came up with this please let me know so I can give proper credit) and just had to try it. Then I figured why not try a cat, and it was super easy. The tail for both comes from the leaves and branch from the bird punch. The tombstone is from the designer label punch.

I painted over part of the candelabra with silver shimmer paint to give it a little more of a spooky look.
Stamps: Wicked Cool
Inks: Basic Gray, Whisper White
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Basic Gray, Basic Black, Whisper White, Perfect Plum DSP
Misc: Owl Punch, Bird Punch, Bat Punch, Designer Label Punch, Top Note Die, Sponges, White Gel Pen, 1/4" Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Crop-A-Dile (cat's eyes), cricut

I had a lot of fun designing this LO. I love when you can use punches for more than one use, it makes them so much more versatile.

vintage flowers

As most of you know I am really not a fan of pink anything, however I always try to get over that when I am making cards for others. I made this for my gram's 88th birthday and since she loves pink, I used only pinks and neutrals for the main colors. I just love the new set Vintage Vogue, and I really like to distress the cards I make with it. I am also working on a scrapbook page using this set, and of course it is a heritage page.

It is hard to see on these 2 pictures, but I actually embossed the pink cardstock first using the elegant bouquet folder, then I misted the cardstock with water and crumpled it up. When I un-crumpled it and left it to dry it looks like really old paper.
I also sponged a little chocolate chip ink on the edges of all the flowers to soften them up a little, and make them look older as well. I did the same with the edges of the very vanilla cardstock. Stamps: Vintage Vogue
Inks: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip
Papers: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink
Misc: Corduroy Buttons, Distresser (from the cutter kit), Crop-A-Dile (to make the little flower centers), 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

Sweet birthday

I made this card for my niece's birthday earlier in the month. I was going to post it then, but decided to save it for while I was away. I have set up a few posts to automatically post while I am away so you will have something to come and look at while I am enjoying the warm & sunny (I hope) weather.

This is a case of a card I saw on LeeAnn Greff's blog. I did not have the set she had, so I used my brand spanking new set called Sweet Scoops instead. I could not believe how easy it was to do this card. It looked so pretty on her blog I just had to try it, esp, the syrup on the ice cream.

Stamps: Sweet Scoops
Ink: Tempting Turquoise
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Close to Cocoa, So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss (retired) SAB paper (retired)
Misc: Corner Rounder Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Crystal Effects, 1/2" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Texturz Impressions Background, Crop-a-dile,

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'
