sweet candy treat

I made several Valentines Day cards this year, but never got around to posting them before the 14th, but I figured I'd still share them with you. I love the sweet treat cups, they are so much fun!

I tried the rock n roll technique to add a little bit of detail to the bird and the flower stem. I really love the end result.

Another scrapbook layout

I am finally getting back into the groove of scrapbooking, and I got another LO done.... or at least mostly done! I am still trying to figure out what else this needs.... Every time I look at it, I think it needs something, but I have no clue what to add.

If any of you want to pass along a suggestion, please feel free to leave me a comment, I'd love some help figuring out what would finish off these 2 pages.

Stamps: none
Inks: Early Espresso
Paper: Bashful Blue DSP, Early Espresso, Almost Amethyst (retired), Sahara Sand DSP (retired SAB)
Misc: Colored Buttons (retired) Full Heart Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Linen Thread, Ric Rak (made using Design Studio and the Cricut), Sponge Daubers

I am off to bed, I have to get up early tomorrow to help hubby pack for a boys weekend away. Sadly I will still have the kid, or I could have had the whole weekend to scrap, that would be a dream come true.

love you much....

I saw a card done a while back by Mary Fish, and loved the paper she used, so I tried to case it. It was a while ago and I didn't save the link to go back to, so I am pretty sure this is really close to what she actually did, but I am not 100%. This paper is from the new stack called sweet pea, and I love this paper! It is so awesome. I have been using it a lot lately. It is great for scrapbooking.

Stamps: Well Scripted
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Old Olive, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, DSP Sweet Pea
Misc: Trio Flower Punch, Brads, Texture Embossing Folder, 5/8" Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon, Full Heart Punch

With all my Heart

I spent the afternoon over at my grams place with my son making Valentines for the both of them. She wanted to give him a valentine, but didn't want to have to buy a whole pack just for one, and we needed a few for his friends and cousins. I pre-cut the paper and stamped the images and then let them at it. Considering both their ages and ability levels they did fantastic! I will get pics of those up in a day or two.

Here is another card I made for John for his Valentines gifts, yes gifts, plural. I decided to make him 14 cards and 1 project for Valentines Day, since it is the anniversary of our first date, years ago. I cased this wonderful card from Mary Fish, she is so amazing and always does such beautiful work. I had to improvise a little bit since I did not have the patterned paper she used, so I made my own red and green 'DSP' with a stamp from the stamps Loads of Love and Sanded and white craft ink.

Stamps: With all my heart
Ink: Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, Whisper White Craft Ink
Paper: Welcome Neighbor DSP, Green Galore, Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Sahara Sand Cardstock
Misc: Real Red Corduroy Buttons, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Linen Thread, Mini Library Clip, Full Heart Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Ribbon, Stampin Dimensionals

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

Stamp Club

We had our Stamp Club last night and had quite a bit of fun making 3 sort of Valentines type cards. This is one of them, from the new Sweetheart Stamp set.

I love the treat cups, they are fun to give since almost everyone loves candy, and they can change the look of a card by the color of candy you put in them. What is also nice about the cups is that you don't have to put candy in them. I made a few Christmas cards that has confetti inside the cup instead.

Stamps: Sweetheart
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede Markers
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White Cardstock, Crushed Curry Textured Cardstock
Misc: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Heart Treat Cups, Full Heart Punch, Round Tab Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Smarties (the Canadian kind)

The candy I used is called Smarties and the pink, purple and yellow are almost an exact match for the Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry In Colors. Smarties (made by Nestle) are very similar to M&M's, they are not available in the US, here is a Wikipedia article about them if you are interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smarties

Love You Much

I love this new stamp set Well Scripted. It is such a nice font and has such wonderful sayings. I'm not too sure where I got the inspiration for this card from, but as I was thinking of what to do this card idea came to me, which is usually a good sign that I have seen it somewhere, and did not actually come up with the idea myself. When I come up with an idea for a card it usually takes me a long time to make it appear in my head, if it pops in there, I had to have sen it some where before.

I used the Bigz XL Die Movers and Shapers with the heart die in it to cut the bigger heart shape out of the white piece so that the pink could show through. I also stamped the sentiment in White craft ink and then embossed it in white as well and punched it out with the full heart punch. I love how you can put one inside the other and have the 'mat' around it. I also used the heart to heart punch to punch all the hearts out of the new Welcome Neighbor DSP from the SAB catty.

Stamps: Well Scripted
Ink: Whisper White Craft Ink
Paper: Welcome Neighbor DSP, Bermuda Bay, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Misc: Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, White Embossing Powder, Heart to Heart Punch, Full Heart Punch, Movers and Shapers Heart Die.

I am having a blast getting back to creating! I will be working on invited to my son's birthday party for the rest of tonight and all day tomorrow. I need to get them out ASAP. When those are done I will be back to working on samples for classes and stamp club.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'
