Again????

I know that is what you are all saying right now.... and I promise you that this is the last card made with this set for a while, probably a long while. I really am going to miss this set. I call this my triple embossed card. It is firstly heat embossed with clear embossing powder, then embossed using the big shot and the texturz folder finial press, and finally dry embossed over that with platinum shimmer paint.

I will warn you if you try this, that when you heat emboss first, then run it through the big shot, the embossing will crack and distress (which looks really cool). If you do not want the distressed look all you need to do is re-heat the powder. It will melt again and look all shinny and pretty like this card.

Stamps: Very Thankful
Inks: Basic Black, Versamark
Papers: Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black, Brushed Silver
Misc: Platinum Shimmer Paint, Sponge Daubers, Rhinestones (from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit), 5/8" Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Ribbon Slide (Hodgepodge Hardware), Clear Embossing Powder, Final Press Texturz Folder

I think that is everything. It really is a very easy card to make, and looks stunning in person. I got my sneak peak order in, and will have a few really cool samples up in a day or two to tease you all with.

Almost back to normal

Well things around here are almost back to normal... whatever that means, lol. My computer is back up and running, although DH is not done with it, all my stuff is back to the way it was. I still can not figure out why my camera is being weird, but until I fix it, I will just have to play with my pics in photoshop like I have been doing. I am trying to get back into more scrapbooking, but it seems every time I sit down to make a LO, I get sidetracked or something else pops up that I forgot about. Cards are so much faster, and it seems that I am always needing to send one out, so they keep getting made and the scrapbook pages don't.

I made a few thank you cards the other day to give out, and this was one of them. Have I mentioned how sad I will be when this set retires? I love it since it makes such a wide variety of thank you style cards.

Stamp: Very Thankful
Ink: Basic Black, Taken with Teal, Bashful Blue, Real Red, So Saffron Blender Pens
Paper: Sweet Pea DSP, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Taken With Teal, Chocolate Chip
Misc: Fresh Favorites Buttons, Blender Pens

I need to make 2 anniversary cards today, but I am hoping to get started on a LO later tonight, so here's hopin' I actually get to it.

Very Thankful

You've all heard the saying when it rains it pours right?.... Now I am having camera issues. I have no idea why, since nothing has happened to it, but now it is taking awful pictures. I apologize for the horrid pictures, and I sure hope I figure this out soon.

I love this set, and while I knew when I bought it it would only last a year (since it is the RMCHC set) I am still very sad to see it go. This uses the Sweet Pea DSP that is retired as well as some brads that are retiring soon. Can you tell that the 'black' paper is actually Rich Razzleberry??

Stamps: Very Thankful
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Certainly Celery, Soft Suede, Taken With Teal, Basic Gray and Blender Pens
Paper: Sweet Pea DSP, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Misc: Designer Brads, Blender Pens

Cross your fingers for me that I can figure this camera thing out, and a big THANK YOU to all who came out to my retired items sale today... Most of my extra stash is gone now and now I have room for all my pre-order goodies. I do still have a little left over if any one is interested, give me a call.

Another video tutorial.

I know a few people have been waiting for this tutorial on how to make cling mount stamps out of your current wood mount stamps. I must say I LOVE how well they work. It really takes no time at all to do, and then all your stamps are the same system. If you have any questions please email me or leave me a comment.

I should also mention, I made this video while my son was supposed to be playing nicely.... I promise no child or dog was hurt during the making of this video.... it just sounds like the dog was being mauled to death by a 4 year old boy :-)

Stamps: Very Thankful
Misc: Inkjet Vinyl

I still have a few sheets of these left over, so if you are interested in giving this a go, let me know.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

Very Thankful

I love taking stamps that are meant for one sentiment and using them for another. I saw a really cute card on Andrea Walford's Blog and really wanted to re-create it. The only turtle stamp I have is the one from the Ronald McDonald Charities set Very Thankful, so I used that one. I created a stencil or mask of sorts out of scrap paper to help me make my cloudy background. I used Tempting Turquoise and Bashful Blue for the sky, that way you get a bit more definition and it looks nicer (and in my opinion more real).

Glitter and the Sweet Pea Felts are a great way to add a little something that makes the card (or scrapbook page) a whole lot better.

Stamps: Loads of Love, Very Thankful
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise and Bashful Blue Classic Inks, Aqua Painters and Reinkers - Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Soft Suede, Old Olive
Misc: Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon, Sweet Pea Stitched Felts, Fine Supernova Glitter (Olive), Sponges, Paper Snips (to make the grass fringe), Textured Impressions Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder

I hope you are not too sick of Valentines Day cards yet.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'
