Hip-Hippo-Ray!..... I'm only a week behind

Well sort of. I had the best intentions to post some more cards last weekend, but then life got in the way again. I had fun at a national scrapbook day crop, thanks Becky.

This is a card I did way back in December for my niece's birthday. I try to not use pink a whole lot if I can help it, but since she loves pink I decided to go all out! Would you ever have though to use Christmas DSP not only for a birthday card, but for a PINK-licious card? I never would have, but my son picked up a scrap and said it looked perfect and to use it, so I did... it's a scrap of Holly Jolly DSP.

Stamps: Pun Fun
Inks: Old Olive, Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink
Papers: Watercolor Paper, Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Holly Jolly DSP, Cottage Garden DSP (retired)
Misc: Aqua Painter, 3/8" Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Sponges, Dimensionals

I hope I've inspired you to use some of your supplies or DSP in a way you didn't think of at first.

You're a blast....

I love the Pun Fun set, it makes the cutest cards, especially when you combine them with the sweet treats cups!! I made this card for my adorable nephew for his 6th birthday last month. I split up the stamp by inking only part of it for the spaceship, and then I stamped onto the tag behind the candy the saying from the spaceship..."you're a blast!" so when he went to eat the candy there was a little hidden message inside.

Stamps: Pun Fun
Inks: Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Wild Wasabi
Paper: Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Brushed Silver,
Misc: Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Curly Label Punch, Corner Rounder, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Sweet Treats Cup, Dimensionals, embossing folder - tiny bubbles

Birthday cards for kids, by kids

My nieces were over the other day and they both love to play with my stamping stuff and they asked if they could make cards for another niece's birthday. I never pass up a chance to play with them and teach them new things, I mean why not get the next generation hooked early right? The first card was done by Alex and the second card was done by Sam. I did help them a bit but not much. They looked through my samples and found cards they wanted to re-create. Alex used different paper, but kept the design quite similar and Sam kept the card design, but used different stamps and colors too.

Stamps: Bugs & Kisses, Pun Fun
Ink: Real Red, Only Orange, Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Brilliant Blue
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Green Galore, Brilliant Blue, Gable Green and some patterned paper from my stash not sure what or who
Misc: Pumpkin Pie Striped Ribbon, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Star Punch, Stampin Dimensionals

It's it fun to let kids create and see what they come up with?

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'
