who doesn't love babies???

I love babies, all babies. They are so cute and little, and smell so good. My cousin is having her first and I made this card a while back when I found out. I wanted to make sure she received it before I posted it, and then I forgot to go back an post it. I am so excited for her and her hubby. I chose to stick to gender neutral colors since they don't know what they are having yet. Sadly for you all, everything on this card is retired since I made it that long ago. I also used MDS to create the greeting on the card, since I do not own Nursery Necessities, and I enlarged it to cover the bottom of the card front. I really love MDS, it makes my life so much easier!!! I colored the flowers using a re-inker and an aqua pen.

Stamps: Nursery Necessities (MDS)
Paper: Sweet Pea DSP, Lavender Lace, Whisper White
Inks: Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst
Misc: So Cool Rub Ons, Pretties Kit (flowers and pearls), Aqua Pen, So Saffron 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Horizontal Slot Punch

new neighbours

Today has been a busy day, as has this last few days. I have been baking and trying new things, and today made homemade tortilla shells. They are really good, and my son loves them. Sadly my old and very abused rolling pin died while making them so I am now on the hunt for a 12-15 inch marble rolling pin, which I am noticing don't exist. SO if you know where I can buy one I, and ship to Canada, I will gladly send you a free stamp set from my retired for sale stamps. I should note my old one was not marble, but some weird plastic fiberglass thing and it was 12 inches, which for what I use it for is almost too small, hence the 15 inch wish list. I have also been making a lot of homemade white bread, and would love to try whole wheat, so if you have a great recipe for that I'd love it if you would share it with me.

We also got new neighbours recently, and I wanted to make them a card. I saw a very similar card done on SCS by KIM L, and wanted to case it. I do not have the good neighbors stamp set, but the paper stack from SAB has these cute houses and trees and clouds, so I paper pieced instead of stamping.

Stamps: Well Scripted (retired)
Inks: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, SAB paper stack, Baja Breeze
Misc: Rhinestones, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, Stampin' Dimensionals, Rub Ons (Eggcellent Eggs Kit), 5/8" Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon

more calendar pages

I *think* I am done testing my new blog background. I am hoping to get some more time tonight to actually transfer it to this blog. I created it all in MDS, and that part was super easy!! I even made matching sidebar buttons and my new watermark as well. The only part I really had issues with was the uploading to the internet and to blogger. I am not very computer smart and while my hubby is, I wanted to figure it out as much on my own as I could. I did get some help from Michelle at Shabby Creations on the sizing of my template and where to update the code. I also FINALLY figured out why I was having such issues uploading my background.... apparently my setting on my photobucket account were wrong... it was resizing my files automatically, which made them too small.

Since I still do not have anything new to show you, here are some more calendar pages.

Shimmery Penguin

I love this little guy. This is the card I made the other night after I was inspired by our cute penguins outside. Just a reminder that this set and the wonderful shimmer paint used to make the shimmer spray are only available until Jan 4th.

you can kind of see the shimmer spray in the top right corner
This does not do it justice, but trying to show the crystal effects on the iceburg

This is to show the wonderful Icicle Rub-ons
It is hard-ish to see here, but this is to try and show the shimmer spray
Stamp: Cold & Cuddly
Ink: Basic Black, Summer Sun, Not quite Navy, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, and Tempting Turquoise Markers
Paper: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Not quite Navy, and Basic Gray
Misc: Icicle Rub-ons, Platinum Shimmer Paint, Crystal Effects, Large Oval and Scallop Oval Punches

I used the Icicle Rub-ons for the snowflake border, I love how easy Stampin' Up!'s rub-ons are to use. I have never had problems with them not wanting to go on, or coming off for that matter. Also to get the wonderful Shimmer all over the card I used rubbing alcohol and poured it into a mister and then added about 10 or so drops of platinum shimmer paint into it. You then shake it all up and spray. It makes all colors of cardstock look wonderful. It is much more noticeable in person, and I also have to say that the crystal effect on the iceberg is way more glossy in person and looks so much better.

Lots of Bots... sort of

I fell in love with this robot but wasn't sure I wanted to buy the whole set, so when I saw the So Cool rub- on set and saw him in it I had to have it. The card from yesterday came from the same set of rub-ons, so there is lots of versatility with this set, and for a great price too. I knew as soon as I started making this card who I was going to give it to, and while it will be hard to part with, (cause I think it is the cutest thing ever and I sure hope my nephew will love it as much as I do) I know my SIL will keep it, so that makes it easier to part with.

I had a fairly busy day today getting ready for my classes coming up, (there are still a couple spots left if you want to join in the fun and mayhem) and also unpacking an putting away all my wonderful new goodies that the 'yay man' delivered. Yes my son names everyone and everything.... the UPS man got his name because I say YAY a lot when he comes with my goodies. Ohhh I almost forgot, this cards name is "MO and friend"... ever seen the movie WALL-E? there is a little cleaning robot named MO and my son insists that the bag this robot is holding is MO and the robot is his friend.... Life is soooo simple when you are 3.

Rub-on Rub-off.... oh wait that is wax on wax off.

I love rub-ons, well now I do. I used to hate rub-ons, they never rubbed on completely, they came off with the slightest brush, and were just in general a PITA. I finally tried the ones from Stampin' Up and I LOVE THEM!!!! They are so smooth and go on so well. I could go on and on, but I will leave it with you really need to try them out if you haven't.

I am off to try and find a cool cake idea for a friend.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'
