Stampers 10

Hi Scrappers,

I wanted to let you all know about the Stampers 10 group I am starting. It would require a 10 month commitment to purchase $20 every month. Once during the 10 month run you would get to be hostess and receive hostess benefits of at least a level 1 stamp set and $20 in free merchandise. During your month you can collect outside orders to bump your sales and receive more hostess benefits. You can also take more than 1 spot if you want to, but every spot is a $20 commitment. We would get together at my place on a set night once every month and do a few cards, or a 2 page scrapbook LO. If you are wanting to participate and are not local to me, I would send with your order photos of the projects as well as the supplies needed to make the project and instructions. I will let you know ahead of time what stamp sets, inks and punches we are using and if you do not have these items and would like me to stamp or punch the items for you I can, and then you can finish putting the projects together. I will also *hopefully* be uploading videos after the stampers 10 night showing the techniques we used. Anyone interested in participating please leave me a comment here as well a way to contact you and I will get back to you asap.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

Soft Summer wishes

This is a card I did for my hubby's birthday a while ago and then I cased it to give to another friend who's birthday is this week.

Unfortunately this card has quite a lot of retired items on it, but some is still available. The cardstock is Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Whisper White (#100730) and Basic Black (#102851). The ink is Basic Black (#101179) and Baja Breeze. The DSP Urban Oasis is retired and so is the stamp set (Soft Summer, from the last mini), the greeting is from Garden Greetings (#113716, which is on page 55 of the last catty and is on the dormant list). I also used Basic Gray Corduroy Buttons (#114345), the Scallop Edge Punch (#112091) and Stampin' Dimensionals. As always if you would like to purchase anything you see here feel free to email me your order or to click the button on the side bar to go directly to my online shopping 24/7.

Season of Joy Part 5

This is the 2nd last card of the Season of Joy that I will be posting. I will then get back to posting all the other cards I have been making.

This is a fairly simple card, and took no time at all to make. The cardstock is Tempting Turquoise (#102067), Lovely Lilac (#100427) and Whisper White (#100730). I also used Whisper White craft ink (#101731), Tempting Turquoise (#100814) and Lovely Lilac (#102874) classic inks, Elegant Eggplant 1/4" grosgrain ribbon (#109039), the 1 1/4" circle punch (#104403) and the scallop circle punch (#109043). The stamp sets are Season of Joy (#110384) and Many Merry Messages (#116586) for the greeting.

Season of Joy Part 4

I think this just might be my favorite one yet. I did use a retired color on this one since I had it still and I love the color combo. I used Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip (#102128), Ruby Red (#102030), Old Olive (#100702) and Whisper White (#100730) cardstock, Ruby Red (#102259), Old Olive (#102277) and Chocolate Chip (#100908) classic inks, sponge daubers (#102892) to ink the edges, the 1/2" circle punch (#104390) for the small flowers and the snowflake, the scallop edge punch (#112091), Silver Brads (#104336), Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon and Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430). I hand cut the tree and the larger flower with paper snips (#103579).

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

Season of Joy Part 3

Sorry for not getting this one up yesterday, I got busy with some new goodies and lost all track of time. I will be posting some new cards made with my new goodies after I finish this series from Season of Joy. I tried a few new things with this card too, and was fairly surprised at the end result.

I used Whisper White (#100730), Certainly Celery (#105152) and Mellow Moss (#102898) cardstock and Delicate Dots DSP (SAB retired, sorry). I also used Mellow Moss classic ink (#102774), Silver Brads (#104336), Organza ribbon (#114319) and Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430). The stamp set of course is Season of Joy (#110384).

Season of Joy Part 2

This is another card I made using Season of Joy. I also think it is funny that I really do HATE pink, but here is another card that is PINK! Melon Mambo is the nicest pink I have ever seen in my life. I will end up using it quite a bit I think, esp since I have 7 nieces that live close to me. I also wanted to pick colors that really are not traditionally Christmas colors. This uses Melon Mambo textured cardstock (#115719 assorted pack), Whisper White (#100730) and Basic Black (#102851) cardstock. I used Melon Mambo markers (#116329 assorted pack), Basic Black classic ink (#101179) and Whisper White craft ink (#101731). Silver brads (#104336) were used in the middle of the flowers as well as Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430) behind them to make them pop. The ribbon is Melon Mambo 1/2" grosgrain polka-dot (#115611) and the stamp sets are Season of Joy (#110384) and Many Merry Messages (#116586) for the greeting.

I also love that just by changing the greeting this can be a great birthday, mother's day, of just thinking of you card.... the possibilities are endless.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

One stamp set, hundreds of ways....part 1

I was visiting with my wonderful sister in law today (Hi Catherine) and she was noticing how many different types of cards I had made with this one stamp set, Season of Joy (#110384) and so I decided to post all these cards on my blog to show you how versatile some of them can be. I will try to upload one or two a day ( if my son allows lol).

This is again all Stampin' Up!® the cardstock is Whisper White(#100730), Old Olive (#100702) and Night of Navy (#100867). I used Night of Navy classic ink (#102977) and then sponged on Brocade Blue classic ink (#101102) with the sponge daubers (#102892). I also ran the whisper white cardstock mat through the Big Shot with the Texturz Plates Backgrounds 1, it is hard to see in the picture, but in real life they show up much better. I also used Night of Navy 1/4" grosgrain ribbon (#109036), elastic cording (#109866) from the new mini available Sept 1st and the corner rounder punch (#109047). The stamp sets I used were Season of Joy (#110384) and Snow Swirled (#111690) for the greeting. If you want to place an order for these or any other wonderful products please see the button in the left sidebar.

I look forward to showing you the rest of the cards I have made with this stamp set, and I hope you all fall as in love with it as I am.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

Pink birthday wishes....

For anyone who know me, you all know that I HATE pink with a passion.... and yet.... Here is a mostly pink card..... and shhhhh.... don't tell anyone, but I actually like it! The more I play with the new in colors, esp the Melon Mambo you see here, the more I really like them, and the more I like this pink... ACKKKKK I can't believe I just said that. I have been doing cards like crazy.... I don't even know how many I have made in the past few days, but it is a lot. I am making them for my open house next Saturday.

This is all Stampin' Up!®, the cardstock is Whisper White (#100730), Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, and Bermuda Bay from the textured 8 1/2 x 11 assorted pack (#115719). I used Crushed Curry 1/2" polka-dot grosgrain ribbon (#115614), Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (#102023) and a brad from the Hodgepodge Hardware Styled Silver kit (#111325). It is such a simple and east to do card, but I think it is really pretty, and who doesn't love a little glitter?

Happy Anniversary

Friday was my 5th anniversary and unfortunately hubby and I did not get to celebrate as things were busy here, so we postponed it until today. Now I can finally post his 'card' I made him. Every year I do a little project for him instead of a card. I saw this idea somewhere while cruising around looking at blogs and websites and thought this would make a perfect project.

Not all of this is Stampin' Up!® as I used papers from our wedding album to coordinate with embellishments and paper from Stampin' Up!®. Please bear with me as this is going to be a lot of pictures.

This is basically a 12x24 piece of cardstock that is folded in half to be 6x24 and scored every 4 inches. You then accordion fold it, and this is the end result. When you 'glue' it closed you use Sticky Strip (#104294) and make sure not to glue the 'pockets' closed so you can put the tags into the middle. If you need more directions or more information on this please leave a comment and I will try to help you out.

It might be hard to see but over the champagne I used micro beads (#104266) to give a little bit of depth.... it shows really well in real life. The silver glasses were cut out of brushed silver cardstock(#100712).

I used a clear medium window sheet (#114323) to put the die cuts onto. I also used tombow adhesive (#110755) over the die cuts to glue the purple glitter (#108796 fine cosmo).

The purple cardstock behind a lot of the pictures and on this page is Almost Amethyst cardstock (#102158) and the white is Whisper White cardstock (#100730)

I used sponge daubers (#102845) and basic gray classic ink (#109120) to ink around the edges.

The frame around Eternal and the ribbon slide are from the hodgepodge hardware kit (#112454) which is also available in Vanilla. The ribbon is 1/4" Elegant Eggplant grosgrain ribbon (#109039)

I used a clear medium window sheet (#114323) to put the rub-ons onto.

The flower and halfback pearl is from the Pretties kit (#109114) and I used a sponge dauber (#102892) to put Almost Amethyst classic ink (#101723) around the edges and the mini library clips (#109587) are great.

The clear rhinestones (#113144) are so easy to use.

I also inked around these edges with Whisper White craft ink (#101731) and Almost Amethyst classic ink (#101723) using the sponge daubers (#102892) again.

The ribbon I used on these tags is the 5/8" Brocade Blue Grosgrain (#109057)

I also printed out my journaling on the vellum cardstock (#101856) which is great to run through the printer.

I hope you like it, I had a ton of fun making it.

Until next time....Happy Scrappin!

Aren't Moms grand?

Some days I just love that my mom lives with us half the year.... esp when I can raid her stamp collection and play with it. I was showing mom how to do a few different techniques the other night and made this card while playing around with her. It is her absolute favorite stamp set ever, and I really like the image.

This entire card is Stampin' Up!® I used Whisper White Cardstock (#100730), Elegant Eggplant (#105210), Night of Navy (#102977) and Brocade Blue (#101102) classic ink, Elegant Eggplant 1/4" grossgrain ribbon (#109039) and sponge daubers (#102892). I also wanted to mention since I have been asked before, I always use glue dots (#103683) to hold the ribbon on, I find they work the best and are the easiest to use. The stamp set Happiness is a Journey is retired, but everything else is still available to purchase, and you can do so at my online store by clicking the link in the left sidebar.

Just playing around

I have finally gotten a chance to play around a little bit with my mom's stamps that she got back in May. For anyone who does not know, mom lives with us about 6 months a year, the rest of the time she winters in Arizona. Anyways, she is a huge quilter and just had to get the Quilt Quips (which is on the Dormant list) so tonight as I was looking at it an idea came to me. I am sure this has been done hundreds of times by others but for me it was totally new. I thought , why not make a paper 'quilt' out of scraps. So this is what I came up with. It took me a little bit to get the pieces the right size, but I think it looks really good, esp considering I used only scraps I had. I think I will make another one soon, but this time with DSP instead. Let me know what you think of it, and also if this technique has a name.

a new piggy bank

A few weeks ago my son broke his old piggy bank, which was actually a cow, so we went out shopping for a new one. He found a plain white ceramic piggy and loved it. Today after days and days of him asking for the piggy to be colored I decided how I was going to color it. I used 3 re-inkers and some cotton pads, and got to work. He picked out the colors and I think he did a great job! His new piggy is now sitting in his room on his dresser, full of money.
I am constantly finding more and more ways to use my wonderful Stampin' Up!® products. I actually made a potty chart of sorts with some of the scraps of my cardstock. The new chart with Stars on it has been a wonderful tool in helping my son want to actually go in the potty instead of going in his underwear. Now that I have completed some around the house projects, I think I am going to spend the rest of my afternoon (whats left of it anyways) doing some scrapping for me.

Until next time Happy Scrapping!

a new card, finally!!

So I finally got a card uploaded that I cased tonight, the original is done by Donna at butternutsagedesigns.blogspot. Hers is way nicer than mine ever could be, but I tried something new. I am going to be doing a variation of this card (same technique, different card) in my September Christmas Card Class. If you want to sign up for that, just leave me a comment, or email me. I also messed up on this card slightly since I did not wait for the ink to dry, before cutting it down to size and I smeared the ink.

Until next time Happy Scrapping!

I have been a bad blogger

Just a quick little note to say, I am sorry I have not updated my blog all week. My mom is here for the summer and she is still fairly new to scrapbooking and card making, so I have spent this week helping to organize her and her supplies as well as teach her how to use the supplies she has. I will be uploading some photos in a day or two of some of the quick cards I have made to show her some techniques.

Until then, Happy Scrapping

Cards for my nieces

I have been in a fairly creative mindset the past few days and have actually managed a few LO's and 2 cards. 2 of John's nieces have birthdays in the next couple weeks, so I made their cards last night so he can mail them on the way to work. I have also been using embellishments that I normally don't use, not because I don't like them, but because I normally forget to use them. Catherine, I actually stamped RIGHT ON A LO!!, not even on a piece of paper, but right on the actual page, twice!! I am very proud of myself for trying lots of new things too.

Both the cards I made are all Stampin' Up!®. The first uses Almost Amethyst, Elegant Eggplant and Whisper White cardstock, Delicate Dots DSP, Almost Amethyst, Elegant Eggplant, Certainly Celery and Mellow Moss Classic Ink. The centers of all the flowers have Micro Beads. The stamps are Flower Fancy and Garden Greetings.

This card uses Pacific Point, Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White cardstock, Pacific Point, Bashful Blue, and Chocolate Chip Classic ink, and the stamp set is Flight of the Butterfly.

I am going to try and take pictures of the LO's I did the last few days and post them soon. Until then, Happy Scrappin'
