Rich and Regal Christmas

I love trying out new color combos and seeing what happens. I reached into the rich regal color family for this card and I love the way it turned out. I stamped the image in versa mark and embossed with clear to get the wonderfully shinny poinsettias. I love making Christmas cards, so much so that I always have them done by mid September, and yet I still make them. I think I have enough for my mom's cards too.

Stamps: Christ is Born, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Versa Mark
Paper: Whisper White, Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke
Misc: Clear Embossing Powder, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Cold & Cuddly....

and boy is it ever cold out! OK I know I am being a wuss, but when I went to work tonight I did not realize it was going to be this cold out, so I didn't bother with a jacket. It was windy and soooo cold when I left, and to top it off the fan in the car doesn't work so I had no heat until after I got home. This card while cute, did not make me feel any warmer, but it was inspired by the cold outside. I also really love using the micro beads, I love the dimension they add.

Stamps: Cold and Cudddly
Inks: In Color Markers ( Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede)
Paper: Very Vanilla Cardstock, Bermuda Bay Cardstock, Soft Suede Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock
Misc: Micro Beads, Stampin Dimensionals, Texturz Impressions Backgrounds #1, Modern Label Punch, 1/2" Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon in Soft Suede, Sponge Daubers to 'chalk' the raised image.

Loads of Holiday Cheer

I am loving the new DSP Holiday Lounge! I paired the tone on tone red with Taken with teal since those are the main colors in the DSP even though they never actually appear together on any of the papers and I like the look, a lot. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to help place the tree in the truck bed and then also masked off the truck so that the tree branches would not be on the truck, but look like they went into the truck bed.

Stamps: Loads of Love
Ink: Basic Black, In Color Markers, Blender Pen, Ruby Red, Basic Gray
Paper: Holiday Lounge DSP, Taken with Teal, Whisper White, Basic Black
Misc: Blender Pens, Basic Black 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stampin' Dimensionals

I love hearing your feedback, so please leave a comment

Beautiful Butterflies

I just love butterflies, and I must admit I am a little sad this time of year that there are no butterflies out anymore. I do still see them when we go to the zoo, we make a small stop in the botanical gardens that house them all year long, just to see them. I love the ones that have blue on one side of the wings and brown eyes on the other side. They are really freaky when they open up their wings, it looks like a bird is looking at you.

Back on topic here, this little butterfly is from the Bigz butterfly die from Stampin' Up! and I love this die. Thank you again Cat for letting me borrow it!! I also really love the new window sheets, and this one is called clearly thanks and has 4 patterns on it, so when you cut it into quarters this is one of the images. I love that this is not too springy, but still hopeful. I have no idea who I am giving this card to yet, but I sure hope they love it as much as I do.

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Paper: Bashful Blue DSP, Bashful Blue Cardstock, Night of Navy Cardstock, So Saffron DSP, Vellum Cardstock
Misc: Certainly Celery 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Filigree Brads, Silver Brads, Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die

Fall colors

Around here, fall is almost over, but I love the colors so much that I used them for this card. Pumpkin Pie is such a wonderful orange, and Chocolate Chip is the nicest brown and both of them are so fitting, with yesterday being Halloween.

I hope you all had a wonderful time yesterday, we sure did. I have a ton of pictures I need to get organized for scrapbooking.

Happy Everything

I just love using the DSP that Stampin' Up! has to offer. This purple is such a wonderful color, and I love the stripes the most. I think my most favorite embellishment to use it ribbon. I have so much of it and I keep getting more. Let me know what you think of this one.

I still haven't played with MDS (My Digital Studio) as much as I had hoped to. Mostly because I am working on fixing my home computer and I need to swap out hard drives before I load MDS onto it. I don't do a lot of work on the laptop if I can help it, and when I have had time lately it seems I am always in front of the home computer not the laptop. I am hoping to get my computer all fixed by the end of the weekend and then will spend some time next week playing around with MDS. I am also hoping to re-do the look of my blog with MDS soon.

MDS scrapbook LO

Here is the LO I said I would upload yesterday. Last night we had some family drop in for a visit, and I got so caught up hanging out with them that I completely forgot I was supposed to get my laptop back out and upload this page.

I had a lot of fun making the album I am now waiting on, and this is 1 page of a 2 page LO from it. I took a template and added some elements to it, as well as changing and deleting some that came on it. It really is so easy to make fast but nice LO's in this program, and I have to say, so much easier to upload on here than traditional LO's. Those take forever to scan and stitch together and then to shrink... too much work.

I hope you enjoy and if you have any questions about this program please feel free to ask, I would love to help you out.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

My Digital Studio

I have been playing around with MDS for a couple days now and I really like this program. For those of you that don't know much about it, it is a digital paper crafting solution. You can make so many cool projects with this software and print it at home, at a photo center or have Stampin' Up! professionally print it and send it directly to you. I am now waiting on an album to be delivered to me. Last year I made gift albums for my extended family and ended up making 11 of them. It took me working around the clock and having my hubby help as much as he could for 4 weeks to get them all done. I started working on this years gift album and got it done in about a day, and that included learning the software too. I would highly recommend this program to anyone that is wanting to try digital paper crafting.

Unfortunately I am running behind with some other family needs right now, but I will upload some LO's I did in this album I hope tomorrow.

Train load of fun

I just love this little train set. I have used it for so many different occasions and for kids and adults. I was wanting to see if I could use it for Christmas too and this is what I came up with. I really love my In Color markers, they make coloring in small areas on stamps soooooo easy. Cute & Cuddly is also a new favorite of mine, as is the new holiday lounge DSP. I hope you all like it as much as I do.

Seasons Greetings

I am really loving the simple cards right now. I love the look of this card, and I especially love that it has a little bit of texture that just gives it the finishing touch. There is not much to say about this card except how easy it is to make. I hope you enjoy it.

Birthday Celebrations

I think this might just squeek in under the wire for getting posted 'today'. I did this one up for my open house last month. I love playing with the markers, and this is a great stamp set for using markers to tint the ends of your flower petals. I am running off to bed again as this is another crazy busy week, but I thought I would give you all some 'happy lations' as my son calls this card.

Until next time, Happy Scrappin'

PHEW.... what a hectic week!!

Last week was such a busy week around here. I still have no idea if I am coming or going. I hosted a stamp club, made 2 very unique and different cakes and then taught my Christmas card class! I then hurriedly went off to my BIL's house to celebrate his 40th birthday and today I spent the day helping a friend start to organize her scrappy space. I am hoping this week will be a bit easier on me, but so far it seems to be just as busy as last week. I will try very hard to get my blog updated tomorrow with some pictures of new cards. I just need to get to bed tonight as I can hardly see, and I can not for the life of me get my camera hooked up to this computer properly.

I love brayering

If that is even a word...lol. It took me a long time to start to play with my brayer, and while I am still no where near as good as some people are I love to use it to create quick and simple cards. This one I did a while back for a challenge to use only the very basics of card making. Cardstock or paper and ink. I sort of expanded that by using the brayer, but I figured since it was not an actual embellishment of any kind, that it was ok. I also love that this card took me only about 4 minutes to make, including cutting all the cardstock, and putting it all together. Normally my cards are about 10 minute cards, since I am very particular about placement, making sure everything is exactly lined up and all that. I sometimes hate that I am so picky about that, but in the long run, it always looks great, so I guess that is the reward. This card is called 'broken flowers' since the petals go downwards I can not convince my son that they actually grow like this. I hope you like it.

polly wants a flower

Ok, well this isn't really a 'polly' and I am guessing 'she' doesn't actually want a flower, but my son sure thinks she does. This was made quite a while ago at a regionals seminar. I changed very little, but I did change a few things to make it more mine. I would have done more, but it was my first attempt at a make n take. I have yet to make more card wallets, but I really like the idea of it, so I am sure in the future I will make a few more, possibly even for my stampers 10 group. I love hearing what you think of these, so please keep the comments coming.

"Not Yellow Sun"

I am trying to use new and different color combos, and I mostly like this one. I am still not sure I love the card, but I think I really like the colors of it. According to my son there are 3 'not yellow suns' on this card and he has named it accordingly. Again you can see that I have used a stamp to make a background pattern... this is really starting to be my thing. I LOVE background stamps for just that reason, but unfortunately I don't have a ton of them, so I improvise a lot. I hope you like it.
